About the Event

Supported by SCVS and the Menopause Team

With lunch provided by Rachel from V-Hub

As part of the BMHS Women’s Empowerment Project, our monthly themed Menopause Lounge offers a culturally sensitive safe space to share lived experiences and learn.

Open to women of all ages, ethnicities, religions, and cultural backgrounds, our Menopause Lounge is supported by SVCV and the Menopause Team and helps to break the cultural restrictions that isolate women who are often compelled to suffer menopause in silence due to poor awareness/education. It is only when we gain knowledge about the symptoms, that we begin to learn to recognise how these may impact our mental, physical, and emotional health and well-being, and that of our families.  By talking openly about menopause, we aim to empower women with the confidence to decide what support is needed, and available and how to access it.

The Menopause Lounge is held from 11 am to 2 pm the last working Friday of each calendar month. During our Menopause Lounge, on Friday 27thJanuary 2023, we will dedicate “Time to Talk” about how menopause can impact mental health.
